Beginning in 2011, the annual funding for streets was increased from $1.8 to $5.1 million and the current 5-year budget plan includes an additional $2.3 million to complete paving on Middlefield Road and Alma Street. The Pavement Condition Index, or PCI, measures the condition of street surfaces on a scale of 1 to 100, and is based on inspections of each street that are done every other year. Since 2009, the average PCI score has improved from 72 to 82, and we expect to reach a citywide average score of 85 in 2019. With a PCI score of 82 in 2015, we have the best roads in Santa Clara County.
